Kara: President
(she/her)

Hi! My name is Kara Bothwell and I'm the President of Zoo Club! I'm a Senior Zoology major from Grapevine, Texas! My favorite animals are penguins, orcas, and puffins, but I love basically anything related to the ocean. After I graduate I plan to earn my Associate's in Vet technology and work as an exotic vet tech! Over the summer I've worked as a kennel technician at my local animal hospital, I have completed two Internships at the Dallas Zoo with their Ambassador Animal Department, and I was a volunteer and part of the training team at the Winnie Carter Wildlife Center at A&M (I worked with Przewalski horses)! I am beyond excited for this semester and ready to meet everyone! It's going to be a good one! :)

I am currently working as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Welfare and Behavior lab. I have worked with a lot of different animals at a lot of different places: Aggieland Safari, Winnie Carter Wildlife Center, Vet Med Park, and several different vet clinics. In the future, I want to become a professor who researches and teaches animal welfare, ethics, and conservation. I love meditating, working out, making pinterest collages, and spending as much time with animals as I can. I also love talking so please ask me about anything I've done or tortoises!
